Obituary of Cedrick K. Chan

Cedrick K. Chan’s long and courageous battle to overcome a traumatic brain injury suffered in a tragic accident overseas during the summer of 2013 has come to an end – complications from COVID-19 claimed his life at the age of 48 on May 5, 2020 in Stamford, CT. Born in Hong Kong, Cedrick was raised in Stamford, CT, where he began to develop his artistic talents as a violinist with the Young Artists Philharmonic. After graduating from Lehigh University, Cedrick had a long and distinguished career in film production and visual effects, with contributions to many Hollywood productions, including the Star Wars prequels during his tenure with Lucasfilm. He then relocated to Asia after being recruited as an academic lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and later oversaw the Digital Arts Department at the International Technological University, while continuing to contribute to various multimedia productions. To those of us who loved him, he will be remembered for his undeniable charisma, determination, humor, carefree dancing, and so much more. Cedrick has always been larger than life – generously sharing his joy with all of the many people throughout the world who deeply loved him and strangers alike. Cedrick’s family hopes that knowing his suffering is over will help to heal the profound sorrow and even anger we have all been feeling for so long. His friends have been a comfort to his parents and younger brother during these past years and have proven to be a testament to all the lives he touched. to leave a personal message for his family, please visit: www.gallagherfuneralhome.com
