I feel extremely lucky to have known Gene. He was my cousin and good friend. He was extremely selfless. He would always focus on what he could do for others; not what he could get from others.
I have innumerable memories from our time spent together. We took trips to St. John in the Virgin Islands,
Martha's Vineyard, Palm Beach, and the Hamptons. We experienced two sensational sporting events together. We watched Secretariat win the triple crown at the Belmont Stakes and my alma mater, Columbia win the Ivy basketball championship in a playoff game at St Johns. In that game, there were 4 players who would later play professionally.
There were also our numerous sails on my Schock 22 out of Greenwich Point and many hours of tennis on the red clay courts at the Belle Haven Club. Sometimes, on the next court, Ivan Lendl would be practicing for Roland Garros.
I will always cherish the memories of our time together.

Karwoski Family and Friends,
Sad to hear that my cousin and friend Gene passed away. It was always fun to play golf or tennis with Gene. He never took the games too seriously. We enjoyed many sporting events in NYC, often on tickets which he secured. He helped me move to NYC.
We started our first jobs about the same time and on the same street- Wall Street.
