Obituary of Carolyn Russell
Carolyn S. Russell, Age 84, of Stamford, CT, left her earthly body to be at home with God on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
Carolyn was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in Granite City, Il. She is predeceased by her brother, Ralph Watson and is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Kraemer. She leaves behind her four children: Joseph Russell, Mary Wilson Stephen Russell and Christopher Russell. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Carrie, Zachary, Kayden, Jake, and Hannah as well as three great- grandchildren: Melody, Easton and Micah. This list would not be complete without mention of Estelle Pierce, her most cherished friend of 60 years.
Carolyn, a diligent worker and a member of the local butcher's union, worked more than 25 years for First National Supermarket (aka Finast). In 1989, she won the President's Award for exceptional customer service. This honor reflected the characteristics she brought to every part of her life - kindness, patience, and care.
Carolyn's dream was to raise a family and instill a moral compass in the hearts of her children. She succeeded beyond measure in building a home where love resides, memories are created, friends are embraced, and laughter never ends. A strong, selfless, and resilient woman with the ability to listen and reserve judgement, she welcomed all into her home and was a friend and second mom to many.
Carolyn tackled life’s hurdles with tenacity and grace, while preserving the ability to enjoy the simple things. Her passing will leave an indelible void for those who were privileged enough to have her in their lives.
We can all learn from the way Carolyn lived her life and although she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
