How I will miss my sister
I remember when she and Clive lived in our home in Granite City, and when Joey was born. They left shortly after his birth to Clive’s home in Connecticut . She was so happy. Shortly after that she meet her friend, Estelle, and for 65 years they were BFF.
We talked by phone and try to visit once a year if possible, when finances allowed.
I just recently visited her and we had a wonderful visit. We went shopping with me pushing her in the wheelchair and her pushing the cart . We did a pretty good job.
I will miss her terribly but I know she’s with Jesus so I try to be happy for her .
She loved her children and she loved Jesus.
The last words she said to me were “you know I love you”
I love you too sis. Till we meet again

To the beloved family of Carolyn Russell and my dear friend of 60 plus years-
My heart aches so, we had a very special friendship and fondness for each other. I know I have another angel in heaven and will never forget our times together. I can see you and Burt dancing and your sweet moves. Gone but never forgotten. Until we meet again. Rest In Peace, dear Carol.
Always and forever,
Estelle

What can You say about Carol? The list is endless. Kind, generous, patient, loving, caring. I've known Carol for over 30 years, when her son Stephen married my sister Ellen. You can say I'm adopted through marriage. I loved going to her house and sitting on the front porch and looking at all her flowers that her sons, Joe, Stephen, and Chris planted. Or when she made homemade pea soup and would set aside a container for me. Or when Robin bought her flowers from her garden or made a lovely piece of stained glass.Or when her sister Mary came to visit. To all the grandkids and great grands you brighten our days.
The memories are endless.
I'm blessed to have known ya!!!
I'll miss you dearly..

I have been part of the Russell clan since 1983 and was still considered family when I was no longer married to Joe. Carol and I would make eggplant parmigian, and ate the eggplant before we built the layers. I always considered her a second mother, her love and acceptance never faded. She was loving, kind and fun to go antiquing with. She is with my mom, off somewhere near a beach shipping a cocktail. Kayden and I will always hold her close to our hearts.

We were heartbroken when we heard the news of Carol's passing. She was such a kind and loving person, never having an unkind word about anyone. I would also like to send condolences from my Mom, Lucille, She and Carol became closer friends later on in life and often would visit on Carol's infamous "front porch". She will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. With kindest regards and condolences, Lucille Grasso and Bill and Lisa Munrow and family.
