Obituary of Hector M. Diaz

Hector M. Diaz, long time resident of Stamford CT, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on November 15th, 2021. Hector was born July 10th, 1951 in Lares, Puerto Rico. He enjoyed fishing and horse races. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed watching The Pirates & The Steelers win.


Hector was the son the Late Monserrate Reyes & Sixto Diaz. He was a hard working, loving, and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Hector is survived by his wife of 29 years, Liliana Diaz, His children Hector D. Diaz, Jesse Cardona, & Zuheily Elisea of Stamford, CT. His siblings, Minerva (Ñeca) Arroyo, William (Gigi) Diaz, Victoriano (Pitingo) Diaz, Ana (Cana) Arroyo, Sofia Lopez, Lucy (Tita) Diaz, Janet Diaz, & Late Haydee Diaz, His grandchildren Jesse Cardona Jr., Liam Cardona, & Aviana Elisea. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Services will be held Friday November 19th,2021. Following Hectors wishes, there will be a private family viewing. Additional friends and family are welcomed to join us for mass at 12 pm at St. Benedict’s Church in Stamford, followed by interment services at his final resting place at St. John’s Cemetery Darien, CT. Hector’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the family & friends during Hector’s battle with cancer.
