Obituary of Eligio A. Angeles

Eligio A. Angeles, longtime resident of Stamford. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 19, 2021. Eligio was born in the Dominican Republic on December 23, 1947 to the late Ramon Angeles and Rosa Almonte Angeles. He was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

Eligio was a loving, hardworking and funny man who brought joy to everyone in his life. He loved making everyone laugh whether it be with jokes, stories from his younger days and sarcasm. He was a Champion dominoes and billiards player, participating in many tournaments in town and never missed a Sunday trip to the park to watch his kids play baseball or volleyball. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his easy-going personality and infectious laugh.

Eligio is survived by his beloved wife, Ana Polonia Angeles, six children: Tony (Joselin), Nelson (Yary), Glenys (Jose), Mary (Junior), Yomayra and Lisette (Jermy). 15 grandchildren; Omar, Xavier, Daniel, Anthony, Angel, Elianna, Nelson Jr., Thalia, Brandon, Brooklynn, Kassandra, Tianey, Jay, Junito and Joselynne, 10 great grandchildren; Katelyn, Kristen, Ava, Danny Jr., Adalynn, River, Benny, Aniah, Penny and Julian. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23^rd from 10AM to 1PM, including a prayer service at 12PM, where friends and family may offer their sympathy and condolences at the Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. The interment will be private.
