Obituary of Frank B. Nuelle

Frank B Nuelle, 95, of Stamford CT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on June 18, 2021.   Born April 6, 1926 in St Louis Missouri, he was the son of Frank and Florence Nuelle.

Frank moved with his family to Sioux Falls South Dakota during grade school, and graduated from Sioux Falls High School before going on to Iowa State University.  His college years were interrupted by enlistment in the Navy in 1944, where he served as an officer aboard ship.   Following his naval service, he enrolled in Notre Dame University, where he participated in the Notre Dame Glee Club.  The Glee Club performed concerts across the United States, and he enjoyed both the music and fellowship of the group.

He graduated from Notre Dame in 1949, with a degree in metallurgic engineering.   Following graduation, he accepted a position with General Electric, and lived in various places as GE grew and expanded.   After leaving General Electric, Frank worked as an executive for Stauffer Chemical Company in Westport CT for many years and then also took a position with Sacred Heart University.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marie F Nuelle, four children, Frank J of Naugatuck CT, Kathleen N Usher of Satellite Beach FL, Mark T and his wife Bernadette of Newtown CT and their children Christopher of Newtown CT and Sean of Brooklyn NY, and Philip K of Stamford and his children Anabelle of Charlottesville VA, Conor of Charleston SC, and Skyler of Charlottesville VA. 

Frank was predeceased by his second son, Paul Edward Nuelle, and his brother Thomas Nuelle of Elgin Illinois. 

Frank continued his enjoyment of music through participation in the choir at his church, St Cecilia’s in Stamford CT, where he and his wife were parishioners for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Stamford Senior Men’s Club and performed with the Songsters musical group.  Frank also enjoyed golf and was an avid fan of the Notre Dame football team.
