Obituary of William Arthur Kreusser

William (Bill) A. Kreusser of Wilton passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15 after a brief illness. 

Bill was born in The Bronx on November 16, 1940 to the late William and Frances (Roberts) Kreusser. The family moved to Stamford when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1959.  He served in the National Guard for 10 years. Bill began his career at Electrolux where worked for 25 years and ended up retiring from Cytec Industries. He worked for a total of 42 years as a Sheet Metal Mechanic.  

William shared 57 wonderful years with his wife Mary Jane (Ryle). He leaves his loving son, Billy Kreusser, as well as his sister, Frances Mason. He is also survived by his nieces Sonya Leibowitz, Kristine Barry, and nephew Ted Klose. Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister Grace Leibowitz. 

Bill loved vacationing in the Caribbean. A highlight each year was his annual trip to Aruba where he would celebrate his birthday with a group of longtime friends. He also loved his home in Wilton, and in the summers  he enjoyed hosting barbeques and pool parties. The best day, by far, was the 4th of July that was celebrated with family, good friends, good food, horseshoes, a splash in the pool and, maybe, just a few fireworks. William was also a gardener. He grew his plants from seed each year and was always ready to share the rewards of his work.

Bill enjoyed sharing life with family and friends. He will be missed. 

Calling hours will be Saturday, February 20th at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
