Obituary of Jeanne Odile Gabriel

The Scriptures tell us that we might have angels walking among us, Jeanne Gabriel was undoubtably one of them.

Above all, Jeanne Odile loved and revered God. She enjoyed going to church and studying the Scriptures. Moreover, she lived a life that testified of The Lord’s precepts and teachings. She was kind, humble, selfless, generous. She was love incarnate.

Jeanne Odile took pleasure in opening her home to both friends and those she barely knew. She welcomed everyone with her gentleness and warm smile. She enjoyed cooking and was gifted with the ability to stretch a meal in order to entertain unexpected visitors. Jeanne was just as giving and selfless outside of her home. She lovingly shared everything she had and openhandedly gave to those in need.

Second to the Lord, Jeanne Odile lived for her family – her four children, ten grandchildren and brother and sister and scores of nephews, nieces and extended family members. She purposed to give to her children and grandchildren what she herself didn’t have. She emigrated to the United States and aside for diligently applying herself to learn English, primarily to study her Bible, she didn’t have the opportunity to go far in school. However, she valued education and worked tirelessly in order to enable her children and grandchildren to succeed. She whole-heartedly cared for her grandchildren and in so doing enabled her children to pursue their education and careers.

Jeanne Odile life touched too many to count. Her legacy of faith, love and generosity transcends geographical limits, languages and generations. She loved life and was grateful for every breath. She was loved by everyone and especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
