Obituary of E. Joan Fox

E. Joan (Haggerty) Fox died peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was a lifelong resident of Stamford and a graduate of Stamford High School class of 1934. She worked at Cummings & Lockwood for over 26 years and Abercrombie, Burns & McKiernan Insurance C ompany for over 15 years, both in Darien. Mrs. Fox was pre-deceased by her husband John G. Fox and one great-grandchild, Kevin, as well as her daughter-in-law, Berdie Fox. She is survived by 3 children: Joan Carol Donnelly and her husband Mike of Stamford, Wayne Fox and his wife Mimi of Stamford and Roger Fox of Stamford. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Joan's happiest moments were spent surrounded by her family in Stamford as well as on their many trips to Cape Cod. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT (203) 359-9999. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
