Obituary of Henry Moskowitz

Dr. Henry Moskowitz, D. O., 92, a longtime resident and local physician, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at his home in Stamford. He was born December 26, 1920 to the late Morris and Sophie (Kornetsky) Moskowitz in Brooklyn New York. In 1942 he married Lillian Niman. They were married 71 years. In 1946 Henry graduated valedictorian from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, then known as Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery. He settled in Stamford in 1949 and practiced medicine here for 60 years. Henry was well known in the community, both as a physician and as an active yachtsman. He served as commodore and as an instructor in the Stamford Power Squadron, and was a life member of the Halloween Yacht Club. Henry greatly enjoyed sailboat racing and his many friends in the boating and sailing community. Survivors include his wife Lillian, his brother Julius Moskowitz of Cold Spring Harbor, NY, his sister Mrs. Muriel Denny of Bethlehem, Pa, his sons, Robert Moss, MD of Laguna Niguel, CA, Richard Moss of Oak Ridge TN, and Roy Moss of Stamford, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A burial service will be held Friday, October 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Agudath Sholom Cemetery in Stamford. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Shippan's Thomas M.
