Obituary of Alicia Auz

Alicia Auz, 79, passed away in her sleep on January 19, 2020 surrounded by her husband and three sons at Stamford Hospital after courageously battling lung cancer. She was born on October 24, 1940 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Alicia was a graduate of Bachiller Amazonas in 1966 and attended university, before marrying her husband Alfonso in Ecuador in 1967. Alicia immigrated to the US with her husband and son Rick in 1969 settling in Stamford, CT. In time she started to work for Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut. As an executive administrative assistant to the Director of Environmental Control at the hospital she excelled for 30 years. During her tenure, Alicia made lifelong friends. Whatever was needed she would help them even if it was just to lend an ear. She was a loyal friend. Alicia continued to grow her family in her newly adopted country. In 1971 she welcomed a second son, Alfonso and following him was Robert in 1977. From then on it was Alicia and her boys. She adored her sons and made sure each had every advantage in life. In time Alicia saw the marriages of each of her beloved sons. It was not hard to notice Alicia always had a smile which made others at ease with her. She had such a whimsically way of seeing the world that affected others as well and in turn they smiled as she did. Her family and friends remember how much she loved to travel. She loved the adventure of it all. Her travels would take her to her home country of Ecuador from time to time, also up and down the eastern seaboard but one of her most favorite places to go were the casinos in Connecticut. Alicia was a very classy lady. Never was there a moment she did not look beautiful. Her hair was always set perfectly, and she would not leave the house without at least lipstick. She was ready to see what life would offer with her signature smile. Alicia will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Alfonso, and her three sons and their wives; Rick & Margaret, Alfonso X. & Cathy, and Robert & Julie. She has four grandchildren; Kalaudia, Patrick, Genesis and Selena. Viewing will be at Thomas M.
