Obituary of Rosa M Hernandez

On December 26th, 2018 our dear Rosa Mortola Hernandez went to be with the Lord surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on May 3rd, 1929.  Her parents Andres and Mercedes Mortola welcomed her as the last of their  children:  Dolores, Alicia, Andres, Maria,  Fortunato, Libia, Italia, Teresa and Jose. She was a loving daughter and sister. In 1947 she married Guillermo Hernandez Alvarez and formed her family.  She became a widow in 1999 and is survived by her sister Teresa and her children Guillermo, Gina, Giglia and Gianna. God blessed her with eleven grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Querida" for her kind and loving care :  Karina, William, Andrea, Felipe, Denisse, David, Gabriella, Matthew, Julianna, Dina and Isabella and with thirteen great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She left her natal Ecuador and became a resident of Stamford in 1980,  she was an active part of the Spanish neocatechumenal way at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford, CT since 1998. She will always be remembered by her spiritual resilience, her faith and wonderful loving heart.

 We will pay our last respects on Thursday, January 3,  2019 at THOMAS M. GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME 453 Shippan Ave Stamford, CT (203)-359-9999 from 4-7pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Ave Stamford on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at 10:30 am following for our last goodbye to the Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien, CT.  The arrangements are under the direction of Thomas M.
