Obituary of Andre F Block

André Fernand Block, 81, died peacefully at his home in Greenwich, Connecticut surrounded by family on August 30th, 2018 from complications of ALS.

Andy was born on June 10, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Albert and Paulette (Loeb) Block. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Masters of Engineering from Newark College of Engineering and a Professional Degree in Engineering from Columbia University. Andy spent most of his professional career as Vice President at Citigroup.

On May 15, 1960 he married his true love and best friend Myrna Machlis and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. André is survived by his devoted wife Myrna, loving children David Block and Susan Duic, their spouses Sandy Block and Peter Duic, adoring grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Tyler, brother Charles J. Block, Esq., nieces and nephews Deborah Block, Diana Block Garcia, Barbara Abrams Root, Carolyn Coleman, Rabbi Steven Abrams, and other beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Andy's devotion to his family, his zest for love, life, travel and music will carry on through all he touched. He will be fiercely missed. "A true gentleman."
