William Carmine Uva
William, “Bill” “Big B”, age 59 of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully at his home in Heritage Village, Southbury, CT, July 27, 2018.
He was born August 17, 1958 in Stamford, CT, the son of Kathleen (Scanlon) Uva and the late Carmine Uva.
Bill graduated Rippowam High School, Class of 1976. He worked for Pitney Bowes, Nasdaq, and was responsible for remodeling and operating Big B’s Reef and Beef Restaurant in Glenbrook.
Bill led a very adventurous life. He enjoyed motorcycles, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, four wheelers, and scuba diving, but his greatest joy was spending time with his daughter Kathleen.
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen (Scanlon) Uva, his daughter Kathleen Holly Uva, who was the greatest gift he ever had, his former wife and good friend, Holly Uva, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Carmine Uva and his brother, Jimmy Uva.
The family is very grateful for the Southbury Police, especially to John Jaskolka, Badge #13, who comforted the family in the their greatest time of need.
He will be sorely missed by all. Bill’s family will receive friends Wednesday August 1, from 4 to 8 pm at the Thomas Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave. Stamford, Ct. (203)-359-9999. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Cecilia’s Church, 1184 Newfield Ave. Stamford, Ct. followed by interment at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
