Obituary of Meghan McCue Butler

 Meghan M. Butler, RN

God called our Meg home on Sunday, March 18, 2018.   She was 27.  Meghan was born in Stamford, Connecticut on April 15th, 1990.   She attended Rogers Magnet School, Rippowam Middle School and graduated from Westhill High School in 2008.   Growing up, Meg was a competitive gymnast for Arena Gymnastics and went on to compete for her high school gymnastics team.  She enjoyed playing softball with Stamford Youth Softball.   She graduated with honors from the Norwalk Community College Nursing Program with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing.  She attended Sacred Heart University to further her degree.

She is survived by and will live on in the hearts of her parents, Kieron and Trish and her brother Tom and her sister Molly.    She leaves behind her grandfather “Pops” Joseph Butler and her great-auntie Joan and great-uncle Ed Fitzgerald.  She was pre-deceased by her grandparents, Kay Butler and Dorothy and Joseph McCue.  Meg is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles Oona Butler, Joe and Sandy Butler, Hazel and Bryan Mattimore, Dave and Fran McCue and Dan and Anne McCue.  She will be deeply missed by her cousins Cathryn, Caroline and James Mattimore, Katie, Carly and Chris Butler, Christine Stockton, Lauren McCue-Bryx, Kelly and Blake McCue.    She will surely be missed by Juan Estella, her friends and her loyal companion, Zeus.

Meg worked as an RN at High Watch Recovery Center in Kent CT.  She loved her work on “The Hill of Hope” and cared deeply for her friends and colleagues.  We know that her sincere wish would be for us to “pass it on” so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Watch Recovery Center,  P.O. Box 607, Kent, CT 06757.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, March 23rd between 4 and 8 pm at the Thomas M.
