Obituary of Leanora M Smith

Leanora Smith, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died Friday, February 16, 2018. She was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica to the late Jasper and Louella Morrison Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Henry Smith and her siblings, Jeremiah Morris, Levi Morris, Whilhelmina Oliphant, Birdie Hall, and Henry O'Sullivan.  She migrated to the U.S. in 1965 and lived and worked in Stamford, CT for 39 years.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Rupert Smith (Doreen) and Glenford Smith (Hyacinth) and a daughter, June Dawkins (Dudley); Grandchildren, Carol, Novlette, Simone, Roderick, Stephanie, Jessica, and David; 6, Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, February 23, 2017 from 6-8 PM at THOMAS M. GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME (next to the knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT (203) 359-9999.    A Funeral Services will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Evangelical Community Church 1155 Newfield Avenue Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John  Cemetery Darien, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
