Obituary of Andy Mullarkey

Andrew (Andy) Mullarkey, originally of Garrafrauns, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland passed away peacefully on November 7, 2017.

Andy was born on May 10, 1953 to the late Mary and Andrew Mullarkey of County Galway, Ireland. He immigrated first to London, England and then to Stamford, Connecticut in 1978 where he spent many years in the construction industry.

Andy played the accordion by ear, sang Irish ballads, and is remembered for his kind, generous, and light hearted spirit.

He is survived by his daughter Tara Mullarkey of Boulder, Colorado, his son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Amy Mullarkey, two grandsons Sean Patrick and Ryan Andrew Mullarkey, his former wife Maureen Mullarkey, all of Stamford, Connecticut, two sisters Margaret (Peter) McKillop and Elvira Mullarkey of London, England, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Bill and Patsy Mullarkey.

A mass will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church 1184 Newfield Avenue in Stamford, Connecticut.  No calling hours will be held.
