Obituary of Neva Ann LaBarbera

~~Neva LaBarbera, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 20, 2017. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut on March 29, 1924 to the late Joseph Peburn and Mary Valiante.

Neva was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert LaBarbera and a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived in West Haven, CT, for many years and moved to live with her son after the passing of her loving husband in 1991. Neva adored her family and they adored her. She was an amazing cook and she loved to crochet afghans. In her later years she also created beautiful beadwork. Neva had a phenomenal ability to offer wisdom with simple stories that provided clarity to those in need of advice.  

She is survived by her son, Michael Lupinacci and his wife Lidia Lupinacci of Stamford, CT, brother Peter Valiante and his wife Stella Valiante of Omaha, NE,  granddaughter Michelle Ramppen and her husband Frank Ramppen of New Canaan, CT, grandsons Michael Lupinacci and his wife Laura Lupinacci of Barrington, NH, Marc Lupinacci and his wife Daria Morozova of Long Island City, NY, Mathew Lupinacci and his wife Allison Lupinacci of Greer, SC and great-grandchildren Sam, Isabelle, Max, Frankie, Zack, Anabella Neva, Mathew, Zoe, Nathan and Elisabetta.

Neva is proceeded by her husband Robert LaBarbera, first husband Michael Lupinacci and sister Theresa Mills.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to Caring Hands 4 Huntington’s Disease, 82 Hickory Dr., New Canaan, CT, 06840 

A funeral mass will be held Monday, September 25 at St. Mary’s R.C Church in Stamford, CT, 566 Elm St. at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk CT, 06850.
