Obituary of Tricia Mary Mattiello

Tricia Mary Mattiello, 40, passed away August 9, 2017 with her family by her side in Stamford, CT.  At her request, no calling hours will be held.

Tricia was born October 1, 1976 in Stamford, CT to Mary Ann and Michael Mattiello.  She graduated from Westhill High School in 1994.  Tricia went on to graduate Summa cume laude from UCONN Stamford with a BA in Economics.  She earned an additional Associates Degree in Accounting from Norwalk Community College.  Tricia was a beloved employee at OCEAN partners where she worked as an Accountant for many years.  Her passion in life was saving, helping and nurturing animals that had been abandoned, neglected or injured.  Tricia loved hiking, scavenger hunts, puzzles, mystery novels, obstacle course races and being out in nature.  But most of all she loved her family, friends and fur-babies.

Tricia is survived by her parents Mary Ann and Michael Mattiello; sister Kristi Mattiello (Daniel Fresa); brother Mike Mattiello (Amy) and nephews Michael Jr. and Peter.  Her extended family includes Aunts Angela Valenzano, Anita Finn and Ann Succi Hayek; Uncles Philip Valenzano and Joseph Mattiello Sr.;  Cousins Michael Valenzano, Erin Finn; Chris, Elsa, Christopher and Nicholas Valenzano; David, Grace Philip and Noah Valenzano; Lori Woll, Ashley Lane, Timothy Succi; Kati, Justin and Allison Southard.  Tricia also leaves behind her beloved pets Mittens and Shy.  She was predeceased by Uncles Victor Succi and Edward Finn.

A mass celebrating her life will be held at St. Leo’s Church, Roxbury Road in Stamford, CT on Wednesday August 16th at 11 a.m.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to one of her favorite charities she supported:  Wildlife in Crisis (wildlifeincrisis.org) Best Friends Animal Society (bestfriends.org) OPIN – Outreach to Pets in Need (www.opinpets.org).
