Dear Cook Family,
I was so sorry to learn of John's passing. My parents (Lynn & Allen Johnson) grew up with him and I know they counted him as a life long friend. I imagine he fought this terrible disease as fiercely as my Mother. My deepest sympathies.

To Kiki and family: I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I know it has been many years since we were in touch, but I have many fond memories from high school and a number of years following, some great ones and then several pretty funny ones.
I was the captain of our bowling team and I could always count on John. We also played together on a team in Yonkers Sunday baseball league for a number of years.
I don't know if John ever told you about cutting school in our senior year to attend the St. Patrick's Day parade in NYC? It is a pretty funny story (John was in rare form), but I would be happy to tell you about it if you like. John was a great guy and a good friend back then. I will never forget him. Dear Kiki,
I was shocked to read of John's passing. I had always regarded him as indestructible, and thought he'd be doing triathlons well into his 90's. Though I havne't seen him for a while, I'll always remember our shared passion of triathlons, especially all the fancy equipment that went with it. I will not forget John and his indomitable spirit. He will be missed by many, and especially by me and he will always remain in my memory.
With sympathy.

Dear Kiki: We've never met, but John and I were at Pan Am together. He and I reconnected when our mutual friend, Gary Stoecker, was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Delia Cabe has remained a friend since that time and is the person who told me about John's diagnosis.
I am so sorry for your loss. I always liked and admired John. I shared Delia's notice with Dennis Panzer another old friend who asked about John recently.
You and your family are in my thoughts.
