Obituary of Johanna Kors

Johanna Wilhelmina Kors, 86, left this world peacefully on March 12, 2014, surrounded by her three loving daughters. Born on August 23, 1927 in Amsterdam, Holland, Johanna was passionate about her work as a maternity nurse. After immigrating to the USA, Johanna devoted herself just as passionately to raising her daughters. She retained the industrious Dutch nature that is common in those from the land of tulips and windmills, and brought that to her love of gardening, keeping chickens, pottery, and creating a wonderful home. Johanna was an open minded liberal woman, who had a sly sense of humor and enjoyed talking with people and learning new things. She was a best friend to many people, especially to her beloved daughters. She adored her grandsons, and loved to spend time with them. Johanna leaves behind daughters, Petra Whitecavage of Weddington, NC, Francis Kors, of Stamford CT, Josee Holubis of Brewster, NY. , grandsons Eric and Alex Whitecavage and her beloved caretaker, Emma Bonete. Johanna was a very strong woman who was the rock of her family. She will always be in our hearts and on our minds. We will miss you mom.
