Born March 12, 1933 in Chicopee, MA, Louis was the son of the late Louis P. and Mary (Kubik) Glinka. He was educated in Chicopee, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Electrical Engineering and studied at the graduate level at Northeastern University's Engineering School, Pace University's Lubin Business School and University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Lou lectured on design simulation techniques at the Department of Defense Systems Institute and published papers in the International Federation of Computer Proceedings. During that distinguished career, he held various positions of executive leadership within software development. Of his most significant work accomplishments, he managed the development and installation of a passenger reservation system for a major US Airline that transformed the industry. He also led the design of the computer-assisted emergency dispatch system used by the NY City Police Department. Rosemarie and Lou were married in 1962 and lived in Washington, D.C., and Rockville, Maryland. Later they settled in Stamford in 1971 where they had their son David. Lou was active in volunteer capacities, including a member of the Stamford Catholic High School Home School Association and Stamford Youth Sports Programs. He enjoyed reading as well as playing golf and tennis with friends. Above all, he was happiest when spending time with his three granddaughters and their dog Calvin.
