Obituary of Maria D. Frattaroli

Maria D. Frattaroli of Stamford, CT passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the age of 63. Maria was born in Settefrati, Italy on September 18, 1950 to Giovanni and Lucia (Tamburro) Frattaroli. She came to the United States in 1967. Even though Maria was born with Cerebral Palsy it didn't stop her from her travels with her mother. Maria could be seen every Sunday at the 10:30 Italian mass at Sacred Heart Church with her long french braid and painted fingernails. Maria attended ARI of Connecticut for over 47 years. She loved music and dancing, and especially enjoyed the holiday parties hosted by ARI at the Knights of Columbus. Maria lived with her parents up until 2002 when she moved into a St. Vincent's Group Home in Stamford. She would come home to her mom and dads house every weekend to enjoy Sunday dinner with her family. Maria was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Nicola and Domenica Frattaroli and maternal grandparents, Antonio and Antoniette Tamburro. In addition to her parents, Maria is survived by her brothers Annunziato Frattaroli of Terryville, CT and John Frattaroli and his wife Marion of Stamford, CT. along with their children Isabella, Nicholas and John. She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home (same building as Bosak Funeral Home) 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maria's name to ARI of Connecticut, 174 Richmond Hill Avenue Stamford, CT 06902.
