Obituary of Julius Green

Julius Green, 94 died January 14, 2014 He was born on August 24, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York. He and his wife, Sarah, retired to Sarasota, Florida in 1983. Most recently he lived at Kobernick House. He was a long time member of Temple Beth Sholom in Sarasota. He retired to Sarasota after a long career as Research Director for General Foods during which he was credited with many product innovations and patents. Before retirement he was a resident of Clarkstown, New York and a founding member of the New City Jewish Center in New City, NY. His beloved wife, Sarah, died in 2000. He is survived by his daughter Jessica Green, his son Benjamin Green and daughter-in-law Paula, grandchildren Allison and Joshua Green, his two sisters, Bernice Hoffinger and Pearl Eisner, and his dear friend, Edna Smith. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Rd Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla, New York. The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Benjamin and Paula Green in Stamford, CT. Memorial donations may be made to The Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Housing Council Foundation (1951 North Honore Avenue, Sarasota FL 34235) or the American Heart Association.
