Obituary of Edward T. O'Hara

O'Hara, Edward Thomas. Edward Thomas O'Hara, 60, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on January 2nd at Stamford Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. A Stamford native and resident, Ed worked for Desco Construction for 25 years and most recently for Danella Construction. Ed will be remembered by his many friends as a loving father to his son Kristopher, a devoted son to his mother Irene, and a loving partner to his longtime companion, Amelia D'Angelo. He will be missed for his ready wit, beautiful smile, and especially his outgoing and generous nature. Ed's love of sports, especially softball, was evident during his playing years in Stamford's Shoreline "A" division leagues, and by his coaching, managing and mentoring of many younger players. One of Ed's proudest moments was seeing his son Kris "Junior" O'Hara inducted into the New England Softball Hall Of Fame in 2012. Friends and family are invited to a Service of Celebration to be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 11th, at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home ( same building as Bosak Funeral Home), 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, CT. 06902. The family requests donations be made to the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital in lieu of flowers. The arrangements are under the direction of Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home.
