Obituary of Rose Margaret Werbesky

Rose Margaret Werbesky, born on December 5, 1926 in Stamford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Meriden, at the age of 96.

She was affectionately known as “Marge” by her family and friends.  Marge was an amazing homemaker and the dependable rock of her family.  She was always bringing together her family and friends with her delicious home-cooked meals and her sweet treats, (Oh! those bite-sized cookies)!  There wasn’t a party or holiday that didn’t include her homemade cookie assortment!  She was very caring and known for her “fast call” to check in with you.  She adored and cared for many children in her lifetime and also loved all animals.

Marge is survived by her four children; William Werbesky Jr., Kathleen Mancini, Robert Werbesky, and Linda Walters, also her brother Howard Critzman, and her sister Mary Sargent. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, as well as seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Marge was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Catherine (Flanagan) Critzman, her husband William J. Werbesky Sr., her brother Paul Critzman, and her two sisters; Irene Gomez and Catherine Ede.

A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Darien on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00am.
