Obituary of Stanley Chance

"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Stanley "Cochie" Chance, affectionately known as "Cochie." departed this life on August 28, 2023 at the Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stratford, Connecticut.

Born on January 10, 1968 in Stamford, Connecticut to the late Stanley Prescott and Mabel Chance. He attended the Glenholme School in Washington, Connecticut and graduated with his G.E.D. in 1986.

Stanley worked as a limousine driver and held various other jobs throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. One of his joys was listening to all genres of music; he was a serious music aficionado and an avid reader.

He was a sincere, humorous, and outgoing person, and would talk for hours on end about various topics. He had a way of making your day with his smile alone.

Stanley leaves to cherish fond memories: two brothers, James Chance of San Francisco, California and Roderick Chance of North Carolina; two sisters, Patrona Prescott of Brooklyn, New York and Nicole Chance Dunning of Orangeburg, South Carolina; one aunt, Magalene Burnette (Leon) of Godwin, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside memorial will be held at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Place in Stamford, Connecticut on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:45 (SHARP) with Elder Lillie B. Williams officiating.
