Obituary of Monica Beach

Monica Evadney McLean Beach was born on March 25,1942 to Enid Chambers McLean and Llewelyn McLeanin Hanover, Jamaica. Monica, affectionately known as“Blossom” was the sixth of eight siblings. She was sister to Vincent Nelson (deceased), Lucille McLean (deceased), Ceprian McLean (deceased), Vernie Williams, Easton McLean (deceased), Errol McLean and Voisey Graham (deceased).

Blossom attended the Rock Spring Primary School in Hanover, Jamaica. She gave birth to four daughters: Monica, Jennifer, Antoinette and Patricia before she eventually migrated to Bermuda in 1969. While in Bermuda, Blossom worked as a child care provider. She met and married her husband Ashley Beach in 1970. She returned briefly to Jamaica to bring her two eldest daughters, Monica and Jennifer with her back to Bermuda.

In 1971, Blossom and her family migrated to the United States hoping to give her daughters a better life. The family settled in Stamford, Connecticut near Blossom’s sisters Vernie and Voisey. While in Stamford, Blossomgave birth to her son Ashley. Her daughters Antoinette and Patricia joined the family in Stamford in 1978.

Blossom worked for Marriott Hotels for almost 15years before her retirement. After her retirement, she kept active, working a number of years with the Meal on Wheels program, providing support to vulnerable seniors in the community.

Blossom enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was also anavid fan of wrestling and proudly displayed her wrestling belt. She was known for her quick wit, sassy personality and her generous and loving heart. Blossom treasured the time she spent each year at her home in Jamaica. She loved sitting on her veranda and visiting with families and friends. For Blossom, family was everything.

Blossom was a beloved mother, sister, cousin, aunt,grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Blossom’s family includes her five children: Monica & Larry Eisenstein (spouse), Jennifer & Myron Tonge (spouse, deceased), Antoinette & Leopold (Danny) Henry (spouse), Patricia Burey, and Ashley Beach. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Aswad (deceased), Jovonni, Erica, Jelani and Rashonda. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Jovonni, Kalaniand Mazi. Blossom also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.

Blossom will be laid to rest in Peggy Barry, Jamaica.

Blossom, though you are gone, you will never beforgotten. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
