Joanne Brown passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023. She was blessed with 91 fun loving years. Joanne was born in Syracuse NY on June 7th 1932. She lived in Fairfield County most of her adult life. Her final chapter was spent with her daughter, Suzanne, in Greenwich.

Joanne was the youngest of 3 children and is survived by her sister Alta; and her 2 children Suzanne and James. She is predeceased by her brother Stuart and her ex-husband Wilbert.

Joanne graduated from Secretarial school and worked as a secretary before and after marriage. She was a fun loving mother and wife. Her family was her focus. She had a zest for life she was a fun and playful parent. The kids in the neighborhood always like coming to the Brown’s house. Something fun was always happening. Joanne was an active scout leader for both of her children.

Joanne enjoyed an active life of traveling around the world, she enjoyed skiing both snow and water, hiking and camping, and boating. In her later years she satisfied her love of children by working as a nanny for young working women.

Joanne was also a lover of animals, primarily dogs- she loved them and they loved her. She always had a dog as a young child until her death. Most recently Casper was her buddy, looking for food droppings at dinner time, and being the first to wake her up each morning. Casper is missing her terribly- he is lost without her as we all are.
