Obituary of Marguerite Conroy

On Friday, July 7, 2023, Marguerite Mary Conroy, known to all as “Peggy”, a loving aunt, cousin and friend to many, passed away at the age of 80. Born in New York on November 16, 1942, Peggy loved her NYC life, including an apartment just two blocks from famous Irish watering hole P.J. Clark’s, where she was instantly recognizable. She was a fan of Jane Austin, opera, travel (favorites included Ireland, Nova Scotia & Italy), classical music on WQXR, and a fine Italian meal. Most of all, Peggy loved a good time - she was a lot of fun. 

Peggy was predeceased in death by her parents, Thomas and Beatrice (Brigid) Conroy, and her brothers Thomas and Peter Conroy. 

Visiting hours are 3-7 pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Thomas M.  Gallagher Funeral Home 104 Myrtle Ave Stamford, CT.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1200 Shippan Avenue in Stamford.  Cemetery: Gate of Heaven, 10 W. Stevens Ave in Hawthorne, New York, immediately following.
