Obituary of Miklos Roger Csapilla

Miklos (“Mickey”) Roger Csapilla, 62, passed away at his home on June 10, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mickey was born on December 10, 1960 in Basel, Switzerland. He started his adventures in 1961, when him and his native Hungarian family traveled to the US, stopping in Michigan and settling in Stamford, CT.  He had this adventurous spirit from a young age and was known for his zest for life. He loved animals, nature, and exploring. He was a gifted, competitive athlete in the NASTAR Alpine Ski Racing in Vermont, Junior Tennis League of Stamford and Stamford High football team. His adoration of swimming, skiing and dirt bikes lead to lifelong passions of scuba diving, snowmobiling and motorcycles which he shared with his children.

He proudly dedicated four years of his life to the United States Marines, where he honorably served and became a skilled airplane mechanic. After his military service, Mickey embarked on a successful entrepreneurial journey, becoming a respected business owner and talented carpenter in Stamford. His dedication, perseverance, and strong work ethic were evident in every endeavor he pursued.

Mickey will be deeply missed by his children Jessica Langan, Jaime Leyerzapf, Samantha Csapilla, Shannon Csapilla, and Miklos Jr., his grandchildren Robert, Thomas, and Graham, his sisters Adrienne Muniz and Yvette Belmont, and a multitude of relatives, friends, and colleagues.

As we say goodbye to Mickey, let us honor his memory by living life with the same fearlessness, passion, and dedication to enjoying every moment we have. A celebration of Mickey's life will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT (203)-359-9999. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm at the funeral home and a prayer service will follow at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the VA Hospital, as this was a cause close to his heart and his family. https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/52253675/
