Obituary of Giancarlo Sebastian Raimondi, Jr.

Giancarlo “Gian” Raimondi Jr. a lifetime resident of Stamford, CT passed away in the early hours of May 15, 2023, at the age of 31 at Stamford Hospital. He was diagnosed with a Glioma in June 2020 at the age of 29. The cancer was in remission for a short period in 2022, but he ultimately succumbed to the disease.

Gian is survived by his parents; Giancarlo and Lisa, his daughter; Lucianna, his fiancé and mother of his child; Erica (Daly), his siblings; Jessica (Pessy), Francesco, and Mark, his grandmother; Lily (Longo), and many more family members.

Gian was born on September 5, 1991. He attended elementary through high school in the Stamford public school system. He started his own business at the age of 17 called “Raimondi Landscaping” which provided lawn maintenance, firewood sales, and snow removal to the greater Stamford area. Later, while still running his business, he became a seasonal employee for the City of Stamford Parks Department. Gian earned his Commercial Drivers License in 2019 before working with Devine Brothers as a concrete truck operator. He eventually became a full-time employee with the City of Stamford Highways Department in 2021.

Giancarlo loved nothing more than being a father to his daughter “Luchi”. He was a caring and loving brother, son, cousin, nephew, and partner. He was a dedicated worker and enjoyed driving trucks. If you had the pleasure of knowing Giancarlo, you knew about his contagious smile and unique storytelling skills. He was always willing to drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand. He was friendly and never hesitated to make new friends. He enjoyed eating, and if you own or work at a deli or pizza shop in Stamford, you’ve likely served him. He was also an animal lover and leaves his cat “Flip” in his wake. 

A viewing will be open to the public on Sunday, May 21, 2023 between the hours of 1 pm and 5 pm at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home 104 Myrtle Ave Stamford, CT (203)-359-9999. A private precession and burial ceremony will be held the next day.
