Obituary of Anthony M. Iannazzi

Anthony M. Iannazzi (Big T) passed away February 5, 2023 at the age of 78.  Tony was born in Stamford on November 19, 1944. He was the son of Joseph Iannazzi and Lucille (Castellano) Iannazzi.

Tony was a musician, playing the saxophone since he was thirteen years old. He led his band that was well-known in the local circuit for four decades, "The Premiers."  Tony worked at Pitney Bowes in the 1960's and had several other manufacturing jobs.  He changed his career, opening "Bread and Butter" a luncheonette in South Norwalk, where he enjoyed food and his favorite customers.  In the 1980's he found his niche as a custodian for the Darien Public Schools .  He spent 8 years at Darien High School, followed by 20 years at Ox Ridge.  Tony was hard-working and well respected by "his school."

Tony is survived by his "Pumpkin," Eileen (Magee) Iannazzi of 55 years and his 2 daughters, Amy Colandro (Danny) and Maura Faugno (Angelo). He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Ellie and Leah Colandro, Anna and Arcangelo Faugno.  He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Peggy Magee and Mary Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Tony is predeceased by his sister Joyce Iannazzi.

Tony was an avid walker and self proclaimed "KING OF THE COVE".  He made many friendships on his walks.  He chased Doo Wop, Oldies Shows and many live musical events.  He enjoyed traveling and was always ready for the next adventure. He enjoyed the best of life.  He will be dearly missed.
