EVER SINCE COVID I'VE BECOME A WOMAN IN SEARCH OF INTERESTING PROGRAMS ON TELEVISION, AND THATS HOW I DISCOVERED AND FELL IN LOVED WITH RABBI GOLUB. IN THE MIDDLE OF ONE NIGHT HE WAS EXPLAINING ALL THE LETTERS ON A DREIDL AND HE WAS DOING IT WITH SUCH CALMNESS AND IN SUCH A SOFT VOICE THAT EVEN I WAS ABLE TO FOLLOW HIM. ANOTHER NIGHT HE WAS TELLING A STORY AND GAVE INTEREST TO THE MOST MUNDANE. I REALIZED HE BECAME 'OF BLESSED MEMORY' AFTER OCTOBER 7 WHEN HE WASN'T ON TELEVISION. I FOUND HIM TO BE SO NICE, PATIENT, AND JUST A JOY TO LEARN FROM. I WILL MISS HIM, AND I SEND OUT MY CONDOLENCES TO HIS LOVING FAMILY. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING, WONDERFUL RABBI MARK S. GOLUB.
MAY YOUR ETERNAL SLEEP BE PEACEFUL. GOOD NIGHT.

Im a Catholic, I Always looked forward to watching Rabbi Golub at 9am on Weekday nights. I had an similar experience as David Bowers. Even though I am not family nor Jewish; I'm so upset to hear of his passing. He was my connection to Israel. He was such a proponent. I have a group of girlfriends (all Catholic) but we all stand with Israeli and we are concerned about the Jewish youth in America not being pro Israel and they do not understand the culture of either Israel life nor Palestinian life and how a 2 state solution would be an existential threat to Israel. Who will replace Rabbi Mark Golub to bring this issue to the fore in the way that he did. I watched his Nov 2022 interview with the ambassador to Israeli under Trump. This was an amazing interview that should be a documentary on Netflix. Israel needs to be protected and preserved by the Israelis at any cost and he was the biggest advocate and we lost an important voice. I will pray for our country to stand strong with Israel. I will miss him so much. He was so respectful to all the people he interviewed. He genuinely saw beauty in everyone he spoke to and appreciated everyone's individual talents I pray he is at rest and he is in paradise.

My prayers of peace and comfort to the family of Rabbi Mark Golub. I am a 50+ year old African-American ordained Christian minister. A few years ago I happened upon an episode of L’Chayim. It was there I first saw Rabbi Golub. It became a show I would make time to watch because of how thoughtful, engaging, challenging and kind Rabbi Golub was with his guests. Sometimes I would chuckle at myself - watching and listening to the dialogue. While a show by a d targeted to the Jewish community, Rabbi Golub helped it transcend religious and cultural lines to be a show that could engage anyone from any background. He spoke of the Jewish condition, but also to some universal human conditions. I learned about some specific issues and content. I also learned about what it looks like to ask probing, challenging and deeply thoughtful questions.
I had noticed recently reruns were the order of the day. I Googled Rabbi Golub and read he had passed. Here on this last day of February 2023 I felt sadness as I read his obituary. One less light in the world. One less thoughtful mind and kind heart in the world. I never met the man. I didn’t know the man. But I learned from the man and was influenced by him. We never know whose life and light will touch us. I am thankful Rabbi Golub’s light influenced me.
May God bless and comfort his family and friends.

Dear Ruth,
I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. We have been watching his TV programs for a long time and enjoyed them immensely. Each time I would tune into JBS, I could not help but reminisce about our tennis days and evening dinners with our tennis partners way back in the 1980's (before you knew Mark).
Life is so busy and time goes by so fast. I do regret not contacting you during happy times but needed to do so now to express my sincere condolences. I know only too well what it is like to lose a husband.
May the good memories you have of Mark serve as a comfort in the days and weeks and months ahead.
With good wishes,

Though I am a faithful Roman Catholic (convert from Lutheranism more than 60 years ago) I watched Rabbi Mark Golub on the Jewish network for several years and cannot believe he will be no longer be hosting his t fantastic program onTV.
Having served as a newspaper reporter, feature writer, columnist and editor for 52 years for two large North Jersey daily newspapers, I found his intriguing, interesting interviewing skills remarkable and worthy of praise and commendation since he practiced fairness during telecasts.. When I started out in journalism in 1954, reporters or interviewers were required two sides of a story, not offer a personal belief or opinion
Rabbi Golub had a pleasant, courteous manner even when addressing tough subjects that were difficult to pursue:
He always had respect for his subjects no matter what their status in life. He did not argue or dismiss controversial subjects whether they were touchy issues or not.
I will really miss seeing Rabbi Golub in the future.. Our Jewish friends have a special word.....Mensch...... to describe a very good person and Rabbi Golub fits that description. His contribution to religion was a treasured Mitzvah.
God will certainly bless him in Heaven.
I attended scores of Jewish functions during my newspaper career, especially at The Paterson News and was always treated like an honorary Jew. I will never forget the words of Rabbi David Panitz when he delivered the eulogy at the funeral of my newspaper coworker, Doc Goldstein, at Temple Emanuel in Paterson. He said: "Doc didn't count the days. He made every day count."
And that could be said today of Rabbi Mark Golub.

We are saddened by Mark's passing. In the years since we left Stamford, we've always missed the ambiance of the Chavurah, the Sunday Adult Ed, and Mark. He was unique as a rabbi and a person. More recently, we continued the connection by watching L'Chayim on JBS!
During Covid, JBS bringing us Mark, L'Chayim and Central Synagogue was a lifeline and a blessing.
Mark was a irreplaceable. He was a visionary and a great teacher. He will always be part of our lives!

Rabbi Mark Golub was my Rabbi since I found the program L’Chaim on JBS. As a Christian, there was a gap and connecting to Judaism filled that gap. Mark Golub who I never met was a wonderful person who connected people of all faiths. I will miss his program and his genuine love for all things Jewish. He was so special. He was a teacher but also a great student because he listened and he heard even controversial issues. I am so grateful for central synagogue Shabbat service that is brought live on JBS. Thank you Rabbi Mark I love you.

To Rabbi Mark’s wife, children.
I first listened back in 2010 while still living in Yorktown hts, ny. Now living with my wife in Millis, Massachusetts.
I looked forward to his interviews.
Enlightening, passionate, sincere.
His love for America and Israel inspired me.
I wrote to him on occasion, and he always wrote back, except for this last time a few weeks ago.
And when I saw him on TV I commented to my wife he just doesn’t look well, and he was breaking too slowly, with exertion.
I loved the guy.
His values shown through. Pro Israel, pro America, pro Constitution.
You must be so very proud of the person he was, and his many contributions to making our two countries great.
May your fond memories of him sustain you.
I will always remember him. Thank you. Ron Qualia. Retired Bronx born convert to Judaism.

David and family, my sincere condolences on the loss of a great man. We met over 50 years go, on a softball field of course and a very strong, fun and meaningful friendship began. You and your brother were 2 breaths of fresh air. My father, Clarence Fedeli was also a huge fan of you guys and your 4 Corners Softball team. Mark was awesome, we had many conversations at Scalzi Park and many laughs as well. We very much look forward to your games as it was a chance to bind with you guys and share jokes, stories and the news of the day. I miss our times together and I thank Mark, you and your teammates for the many hours we spent at the park. May Mark Rest in Peace, he certainly earned it. The world was richer because of Mark and you and I deeply thank you both for the times we shared. Please forward my thoughts to your family and if there are former teammates of yours that you're still in touch with please extend these thoughts to all of them as well. God bless you and your family. 4 Corners will never be forgotten. Thanks so much for your time and take care.

I was able to play Billy to his Mr. Snow at the Stamford JCC in Carousel and he was the musical director of Barnum at NCST for its 25th anniversary in 1994, Ari's first show as his father led the band. I will always remember him closing the show with the most enthusiastic, "One More Time." I was honored to sing with him at his 50th birthday party in NYC.
Mark was such a talented artist and musical director. Mark taught me how to perform a song for an audience with sincerity and thought. He made me the performer I am today. He was such a talented, thoughtful, and sincere man. He was fun.
I cherish the time I got to spend with Mark.

I am so saddened to learn of Rabbi Golub's passing. I stumbled upon JBS by accident during this COVID period and it became my go to channel of choice. The wealth of Jewish information was/is phenomenal. Rabbi Golub's tactful and "tachlis" interviewing skills allowed those he spoke with to really open up in a special way. His comfort with and consideration of Jews of all stripes was so endearing. I can't believe that I was unaware of this treasure until recently. He leaves an enduring legacy for all. I so regret that I never took advantage of emailing to tell him of our appreciation of his talent and his teaching.
His memory will continue to be a blessing for all. May his family and all who knew him personally know that he was loved by so many, and may they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I have so many memories of Mark and how he inspired our family’s Jewish identity. My friends, Jewish and non-Jewish, all know Mark from my repetition of his stories and ‘crashes. He brought meaning to our heritage of Jewish thought and values. My dearest memory will be his constant supportive presence in our lives as Lindsey’s honorary “godfather.” He was there for her through thick and thin, times when it was too difficult for her to talk to us and she turned to him. Our family sends our love to you all. The world without Mark is unimaginable, but the many people he loved and inspired will always have him in their hearts.

Mark was a friend and a mentor. We shared so many incredible moments. Hebrew school at my house or study group sessions were always capped with my departed wife Linda and Mark siting at the piano singing Broadway songs for hours. At every high holiday he found a way to honor me. I will always be grateful for his guidance and friendship. In every memorable moment of my life, Mark was present.
He will be sorely missed, but I will make sure I keep his presence at the forefront of my life.
