Obituary of Honoria P. Regan

Honoria Philomena Regan (Norrie) passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on December 31, 2022.  Born on June 16, 1923, in Kinvara, Co. Galway, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Leech) and Patrick Corbett. At the age of 19, and in the middle of World War II, Norrie moved to England to pursue a career in nursing.  After several years in England, she returned to Ireland where she continued to nurse and became reacquainted with her childhood sweetheart, Martin (Matt), who was home on a vacation from the United States.  In 1954 she emigrated to the United States to marry Matt and they embarked upon their life together both in Ireland and the US.

Norrie was predeceased by her husband, Martin J Regan, and granddaughter, Shannon Regan. She is survived by her children, William (Bill) and his wife Sandy, Geraldine (Geri), Brian, and Brendan and his wife Susan.  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Sean, Christopher, Peyton, Liam, and Zooey. 

A wake will be held for Norrie on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 9:00 am at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home located at 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 (203)-359-9999. 

A Funeral Mass will be held the same day at 11:00 am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 948 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905 followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Gabriel’s Church, the Salesian Missions, Maryknoll Brothers, or another charity of choice.
