Obituary of Georgiana "GiGi" Marie Yance-Moavero

Gigi Yance Moavero passed away peacefully on Saturday December 10th surrounded by her family at Stamford Hospital. Gigi was born in Stamford, CT, and lived there her entire life. She attended Holy Spirit School and Stamford Catholic High School in Stamford and continued her studies at the University of Long Island.

Gigi was best known for her love of all furry creatures and worked for Rippowam Animal Hospital where she cared for the majority of pets in our area. Gigi was the one we would call day and night with our pet emergencies to always be greeted with a calm and compassionate voice sharing her priceless advice. Her compassion for animals did not stop there. Quite frequently, Gigi raised money for pets in need of medical care when she recognized a family burdened by the cost of this care.

Gigi had a talent for cooking and enjoyed sharing her passion for it with her family and friends. She loved to entertain and was a breath of fresh air. Her infectious smile made the whole world smile!

Gigi’s favorite place to be, was always the beach and it was her beach house in Shippan that became her happy place. There she could look out over the water, enjoy the sunsets and truly relax with her loving husband and children.

Gigi was survived by her beloved husband Randy, her children Kyle (Kylie) Pensiero and Georgia Pensiero, as well as her children from her blended family, Nicole, Samantha, and RJ Moavero. She is also survived by her mother, Lillian Yance, mother-in-law, Arlene Moavero, her brothers and sister, Donnie (Jennifer) Yance, Jeffrey Yance and Cathy (Chris) Finn, Richie (Joann) Moavero and nine nieces and nephews, including Brendan and Samantha, Clarissa and Ian, Stella and Coltrane, Helena, Tracy and AJ. She was predeceased by her father, Donald Yance, niece, Morgan Finn, father-in-law, Lou Moavero, and her favorite pet Ginger.

Gigi will long be remembered for her caring heart and compassion for animals. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to OPIN, Outreach to Pets in Need. https://www.opinpets.org/
