Obituary of Ann E. Hogan

Ann Parker Hogan, 85, passed away on December 7, 2022 with her family by her side. Born on June 10, 1937, in Port Chester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rose Rysik (Carl) Kiesel and Joseph Parker Sr.

Ann graduated from Port Chester HS and attended the University of Minnesota. In 1955 she was a contestant on the Ed Sullivan Show and also danced with the Harvest Moon Ball. She eventually worked at GE for over 25 years, while raising her children and finishing her college degree at the University of Bridgeport. She was an avid sports fan and especially a NY Yankees fan. She was dedicated to and truly enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren’s games and events.

Ann gave her life not only to her loving family but to everyone she was in contact with. She enjoyed traveling the world to help the less fortunate. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her time and energy. Ann also donated her time and many talents to St. Leo Church, in many capacities, since the inception of the parish. In 2012 she was honored with the St. Augustine Medal of Service from St. Leo Church for the Diocese of Bridgeport to recognize the “unsung heroes” who unselfishly give of their time and talents to build up parish communities. She provided support, food, and education for children in many communities of the Juaziero Diocese area on her many trips to Brazil. She also donated her time to many non-profit organizations. Ann’s devotion to the community and the church gave her joy and fulfillment through her life.

Ann is survived by her previous husband James Hogan Sr., her children James Hogan Jr., Kevin (Barbara Brennan) Hogan, Patti (Elio) Cavicchia, and Jacquie Fahan, grandchildren Danielle (Anthony) Gaglio, Kevin (Elaine Hernandez) Hogan, Jake, Liam and Evan Cavicchia and Kerry and Courtney Fahan, and great-grandchildren Ronan and Rivi Gaglio, Maiya Hogan, her sister-in-law, Rita Parker and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ann is predeceased by her parents and her brother Major Joseph A.Parker Jr.
