Obituary of Melissa A. Lent

Melissa Ann Lent, age 44, born and raised in Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. She was born on April 18th, 1978 to Jodi and Michael Gabriel. She went on to marry the love of her life Eric Lent on November 16th, 2002, and later welcomed two daughters, Alexis in 2003 and Brianne in 2008 who were the absolute light of her life.

Sports always brought her joy, whether she was watching her daughters, nieces, and nephews - affectionately nicknamed the “Super 7” -  or her favorite sports teams on TV. She loved to watch her two daughters and her favorite niece play softball over the years and cheer them on from the stands. Whenever the New York Yankees or the New York Rangers played, she would be watching with her family. She enjoyed rooting for her nephews in hockey, baseball, and anything else they were playing as well. Her love of her family went beyond the field and into the kitchen, where she shared cooking and baking recipes with her two daughters and her niece.

Melissa was a devoted and loving mother, wife, sister and aunt that would go to extraordinary lengths for anyone in her family. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 20 years, Eric Lent, her daughters Alexis and Brianne, father Michael Gabriel, sister Cara Denison and her husband Barry Jr., sister Danielle “Elle” Gabriel, and Bobby Viesto, all from Stamford. She is predeceased by her loving mother Jodi Gabirel only three short years ago. She is additionally survived by her beloved niece and nephews who always brought a smile to her face, Tyler, Jake “JJ”, Brayden, Gianna and Ryan. Also surviving are her beloved dogs Mia, Jax and Bailey who will dearly miss getting leftover dinner off the table from her.

Friends and family may gather at the Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM, with a prayer service to be held in her honor at 6:00PM.
