Obituary of Agnes Jegier

Agnes Jegier

April 30, 1941-August 16, 2022
Agnes Elizabeth Brunhild Kautz Jegier ("Aggie") passed away peacefully in her home on August 16, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin on April 30, 1941, to Erich and Glacia (Rogge) Kautz. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a master's degree in Educational Psychology and worked briefly as a child psychologist before dedicating her time to her family. She had a fantastic memory – names, phone numbers, and she was the 1970 champion of the game show "Concentration".
Aggie moved to Stamford in 1973 and quickly joined the "Newcomers/Suburbanites Club" and was very active with that group. She was a successful real estate agent for many years, helping hundreds of families find their dream homes – and making hundreds of new friends in the process! She was an avid crafter – hosting dozens of "Holiday Boutiques" in her home, and she also founded a craft store in Norwalk. She was actively involved in her church, making pumpkin pies and rosettes for St. Leo fundraisers. She loved playing cards, especially bridge and was an active member in several bridge groups until the very end.
Aggie is survived by her husband Bob, and children Steve and his wife Michelle, Shelly and her husband Scott, and Brenda, her eight grandchildren, and so many treasured friends.
The viewing will be on Friday, August 19th from 4-7 p.m. at The Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT (203)-359-9999. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo's Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT on Saturday, August 20th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to www.refusetoquit.org, a non-profit organization co-founded by her eldest niece dedicated to assisting Ukrainian refugees.
