Obituary of Roger Abelard

Roger Abelard,69, of Norwalk, CT. passed away in his sleep peacefully after battling some health issues on May 8th 2022, in Stamford, CT. He was born on February 15th, 1953, in Port Au Prince, Haiti, son of St. Fort and Victoire Abelard.

He was a mechanic and electrician by trade and a self-taught photographer. He was retired from the United States Postal Service. Roger was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a natural urge and curiosity to understand how things worked. He was always useful in fixing things and building things. An avid motorcyclist he would travel long distances discovering new places and going on new adventures often on a whim all the while taking pictures and making new friends along the way. Photography was one of his biggest passions, he always had his camera taking photos everywhere he went. He was a big man with a bigger than life personality that made it hard to dislike him no matter what he did. He always had a big smile on his face. He loved everyone and helped everyone.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Mireille Abelard, children Edison Abelard, Newton Abelard, Jerry Abelard, Joy-Ann Abelard, Antoinette Abelard, Edward Abelard, Roger Abelard Jr., his grandchildren, siblings, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
