Obituary of Nieves Acosta

Nieves Acosta passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Greenwich Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on May 24, 1941 in Matanza, Cuba to the late Maria Esther Sandoval and Santiago Acosta. Her family relocated to Greenwich, Ct from Cuba when she was 11 years old. She was a graduate of Greenwich High School. Nieves retired from Pitney Bowes Inc. after 38 years of service, where she worked in the Finance and Computer Operations divisions. She served as a member of the River Haven Inc. Board of Directors for years. She was fun loving, caring, helpful and kindhearted. She loved traveling and over the years she managed to travel the world, sharing many of her experiences with family and friends. Playing Latin music and dancing to the beats always made her happy. Her memories will be cherished by a devoted nephew, Yasser Acosta and Guadalupe Lopez of Pennsylvania, lifelong friend, Martha Hildalgo and her son Mario of Florida, a host of relatives and long time friends. She will sorely be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
