Obituary of Catherine M. Prindle

Catherine Romanielli Prindle, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones and family. Catherine was born in Stamford, CT on July 29, 1928 and was one of three children born to the late Dominick and Rose Romanelli. Catherine was 93 years old at the time of her passing.

Catherine grew up on the west side of Stamford in the Fairfield Apartments. She attended Stamford High School and graduated with the class of 1946. She then moved to the Cove where she lived for 72 years. Catherine worked in the service industry, starting at the Stamford Yacht Club and eventually began working at Innis Arden Golf Club, which was a job she loved so dearly that she remained an employee there until she retired at the age of 80. As a mother of 14, she loved entertaining her large family at her home where many beautiful memories were created. An avid sports fan, you would often find Catherine watching her beloved Mets and Rangers on TV.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Karen, June and her husband Ronald, MaryEllen, Catherine and her husband Robert, Lorraine, Dominick and girlfriend Donna, Gloria, David, Elizabeth and her husband Mark, Kimberly and Dennis. Catherine is also survived by her sister Jennie, 27 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many cousins and extended family. In addition to her parents, Catherine is predeceased by her brother Andrew, son Robert, and daughters Pamela and Rosemarie.

Family and friends may call at the Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Sunday, March 27th, 2022 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 10am at St. Mary’s Church 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT. Burial to follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery in Stamford.
