Obituary of Alan Ziskin
Alan Irwin Ziskin, of Aventura, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 25 He was 92. Alan was born in Hartford, Connecticut and attended the University of Connecticut, where we met his wife Rosalyn Bloomfield. After graduating from college, he went to work for his father-in-law at Bloomfield Plumbing and Heating Supply in Stamford, and eventually operated and owned the business. Alan lived in Stamford for over 50 years.
Alan was a loyal and devout member of Congregation Agudath Shalom and Young Israel, a former Cub Scout leader, and an avid UConn sports fan. He enjoyed gardening and running and loved good books. He took his family on multiple memorable camping trips along the eastern seaboard. All who knew him respected his integrity and his modesty.
Above everything else, he was dedicated to his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Rosalyn Ziskin, his sister Ann Mason of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, his four adult children--Michael Ziskinof Durham, Connecticut, Craig Ziskin of Arlington, Virginia, Steven Ziskin and Karen Ziskin Pilatowsky, both of Johannesburg, South Africa--as well as by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will be sitting shiva in Florida.
