Obituary of Ana Haidar

Ana Filipi Haidar

June 29, 1937 - November 19, 2021

Ana Haidar was born in Peje, Kosovo on June 29th, 1937 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut on November 19th, 2021. Before passing, Ana was surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Ana was predeceased by her parents Noc and Monika Filipi and by her husband Pal Mark Haidar. She was a dedicated professional at Manager Electronics for 26 years, working as an electrical technician.

Ana is survived by her brothers Zef Filipi, George Filipi, her sister Agica Salas, her loving daughters Josephine Aspinall, Kathy Mrijaj, and Maria Livesay, her son John Haidar, and son-in-laws Zef Mrijaj and Andrew Livesay. She is survived by nine grandchildren, Christina Mrijaj, Christopher Mrijaj, Violetta Fortunato, Anthony Haidar, Antonetta Haidar, Lauren Livesay, Philip Livesay, Sandi Haidar, and Mark Haidar, her grandson-in-law Patrick Fortunato, her great grandchildren Andrew Gjuraj, Luke Gjuraj and Charlotte Grace Fortunato.

Ana was such a gracious mentor, always believing in the power of God, she was blessed with the greatest spirit one can attain. Her faith was strong and she believed all was possible with hope and God - praying daily for her family, friends, and every beautiful soul that needed light. Her powerful spread of positivity, love, strength and willingness to help anyone who came her way was one of her many gifts. Ana’s passion to help and support all of those around her will be greatly missed, but her memories will be treasured by those closest to her.

The greatest lessons she taught was to love, forgive, and to never give up on people you love. Ana always said, “Our family is rich in the heart” because of all the love we have for one another. Ana was able to take a room full of sadness and cheer it up with her beautiful voice - singing songs she was taught as a child. Her love for singing and dancing is a trait her loved ones will always remember - from singing at Thanksgiving dinners to singing in her hospital bed in her last days.

Ana’s memory will continue on in her family. Her legacy will continue to grow and spread through the seeds of love and hope in all of those that were blessed by her presence. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Fusco and Dr. Edward Portnay for their love and dedication to the Haidar family.
