That's why it is necessary to explain that their support system is still intact. Explain how death influences their life and what kind of changes they can expect. For example, if their grandma watched over them on occasional weekends, explain that she is no longer able to do so and their aunt will take over that responsibility. Security will help them deal with the loss better.

3. Answer Their Questions

It can be difficult to answer questions when you are dealing with grief, but it is important to keep the lines of communication open. Keep an open mind and make sure your kids know you are there for them.
