Memorial services are a great way to collaboratively find solace, with your family and friends. It is an act of remembrance for your loved ones. We at Gallagher Funeral Home know the importance a well-organized memorial service holds. Here are some tips that you can keep in mind to plan a good memorial service:

1.  Preplan Everything

When it comes to organizing even a small event, always make sure you have all your necessary requirements preplanned. For organizing a memorial service this includes everything from finalizing the funeral home, to planning the dates and inviting people. Properly listing down and arranging the various services required for a memorial service is also important.

2. Personalize It

The memorial service should be comfortable for everyone including yourself. Customize it according to your memories of your loved one. Incorporate things that would help family and friends remember and celebrate the person’s life.

3. Create a Montage

Organize a space where people can share their thoughts and memories of the person. Some people put out photo collages of their loved one and request their guests to share their pictures as well. You can also display your loved one’s favorite belongings during the memorial service.

4. Make dialogue

Encourage your guests and friends to talk about the deceased as an act of collective remembrance and respect towards them.

5. Include Artwork

You can also pay your respects to the deceased by dedicating any artwork to them and their memory. This can be done by reading a poem or playing a musical instrument as a tribute to their life.
